There was someone working on a building about 150' away from the main building. The crew must have had some extension cords. The cords they had didn't quite reach to the job site. So, they just went and added 2 pieces of 10 AWG THHN. They wrapped the wire around the plug so that the cord was now able to reach their job site.

In the main building the wires were attached to a circuit breaker, not even GFCI protected even though they were working outside.

Give me a break....a twist-lock female cord cap is .... what.... 10-15 US Dollars depending on the config?

Who wants to bet that the polarity is reversed? Reminds me of that safety video with the circular saw cutting a workers leg. lol

It's easy to figure out the polarity. The black wire is hot.

Assured grounding program?

I image that the "Black is Hot" is correct.

Probably a 240V load.

Scary isn't it! The ground they were using was the earth itself! Some poeple will never learn.
