Kinda reminds me of a fireman's pole. I guess they don't believe in setback requirements for construction.

I hate to think what will happen if that building either falls down or gets demolished in the future....
Then again...you don't have to worry about balcony lighting with that setup!!

This one is really great, and it's even funny for people who haven't even the slightest idea of electricity. Thanks for posting it, I already showed it around all over my school and everybody was laughing his a** off.
This is really a true case of ingenious architecture. Wonder what they'd face if they had built something like this in Austria or in the US.
