If the pipe bollards were easily removeable, it would be a fine job.

At least they understand the workmanship part, nice neat looking piece of work.

( properly spaced of course) to protect against vehicular damage?

Try 110-27(b) on for size. i've heard of it being enforced for meter locations in alleyways where there would be traffic.

although i cannot substaintiate it, i could swear the word 'vehicle', or 'vehicular' was used somewhere in the NEC in relation to such barriers.

i have not found this, so i must be dreaming it

See 110-26(f)(2) Outdoor. Outdoor electrical equipment shall be installed in suitable enclosures and shall be protected from accidental contact by unauthorized personnel, or by vehicular traffic, or by accidental spillage or leakage from piping systems.

I keep looking at the picture and thinking there is something wrong besides any working clearance problems. This looks like a transformer and the ones I am familiar with require ventilation space at the back. Also, can anyone tell me what type of conduit the black stuff is?

Personally, I don't like seeing transformers in public traffic areas. It seems like Mr. Public likes to use them for shelves and tables. If it snows in this area, it may provide people with a nice warm and dry place to set stuff down as they get in and out of there cars. I have only seen transformers in similar enclosures installed inside; but, I have seen them inside with a foot of papers stacked on top.

could it be sealtight ? with a large radius 90 deg primary ( left)???

Black conduit Phil??? You know, it kinda looks like SEALTIGHT. and it's gray. You have to switch over to sealtight when hooking up equip. such as transformers,etc...

The Black raceway could be PVC jacked MC.

Looks like sealtight with a 90 deg. sealtight connector.

When you order weathershielding for a dry distribution xfrmr like this one, those little "awnings" are all you get.
I don't see any grounding on this xfrmr either, unless there's a rod driven right beneath it??
