The new co. I'm working for installed a 100A-480V-3Ø feeder & an EXO for the "future use" of this mfg. firm in Irvine, CA. Their in house guys hooked up this new compressor. It sits on wood blocks, ungrounded. When I asked about it, the maint man told me it was OK because it was "only temporary", & would be properly connected when they "had the time". I don't know how long it's been like this. It may be much more temporary than the in house coffee & donut fellas think. (My new boss came unglued when he saw this pic.)

i often wonder just how bad something can be temporarily energized, seems that someone is always stretching the boundries there.

I am amazed that many "electricians" don't realize that there is a section in the NEC that deals with temporary wiring.

Evidently, a temporary safety hazard is OK.

Two thumbs down from me.
