This picture was taken in the electrical room of an office building. The
"electrician" decided to tap off the load side of this disconnect to
feed a 100A load center under 10' away.  He/she decided to use SEU for the
feeder, routed through the LB cover.

I'm confused [Linked Image]

I cannot figure out why someone would go to the trouble of cutting a hole in the LB cover to do this? Why wouldn't they just go directly to the switch through one of the unused ko's on the top of the switch? Is there something I'm missing?

The person who did this must have bid the job by the hour becasue of all the extra trouble they went to. I agree with Mr. Addis why not just use one of the unused k-o's??

There are more "little nasties" here. The flex running through the picture isn't strapped. Doesn't look like the 1/2" emt is either. The copper water lines look like they run right over the EXO. Bond wire in EXO is black. A real pro job from the beginning.

Not mention all the trouble whom ever took just to get that Lb open, what with that other pipe blocking access to it.....

Looking at the lengths this person went to to do this maybe they put the pipe there for support [Linked Image]

I am kidding, but who knows??
