Why would there be need of temp power in this situation? the service has obviously been there far longer than the outlet, is that hideous run of EMT feeding the outlet?

Also that flex coming out of the upper right panel doesn't look liquidtight and the area sure looks like it gets rained on...

The Vets office is trying to remodel/expand,but the city (better discribed as the "Peoples Republic") [Linked Image] is not making thing too easy for them.

The flex is the least of it.. how about the NEMA-1 breaker panel/fuse pullout above the right-hand meter?!

mxslick: I guess it wouldn't be quite so bad if it was a fuse pullout. Actually, it's an old Cutler-Hammer "Multibreaker"-style circuit breaker, probably 100 amp. I recently found one like this on eBay and purchased it for my collection. Silly thing, though, the one I bought had been installed INSIDE a building [Linked Image]. From exposure to the elements, I would think that the breaker contacts are getting pretty tired by now.

It kinda looks like the temp rect. has been "temporarily" installed for quite some time.

Would that be the PRB?

At least whoever installed the outlet realized that it was against the rules and thus wrote "temp power" on it to try to excuse themselves.

They just forgot to remove it. I guess when they get called on it they'll just say "Oh, we put that in yesterday and were going to take it out this afternoon..."?

It is possible that the "temp power" is being used as a generator inlet.
