what do i say?
"Don't shoot me , i'm just the EC" ??

I found 3-P male cord caps at Barnett here for about $1.25...get them by the dz and have corrected much of the abuse shown.

I'm not sure, per OSHA, if i can repair cords, but i do it anyways....
I wondered where I left my 4way!
Joe,
Can you document the fact that a contractor was convicted of murder for a missing ground pin? I'd like to use that information when I teach grounding classes. I haven't heard of that one. I have heard of one in, New York, I think, about 10 years ago where an electrician went to jail for manslaughter, when an improper grounding connection on a baseboard heat unit resulted in a death of a child.

Don: No, but I thought I saw something here? http://www.keglerbrown.com/search/search.cgi
Don,

If I remember correctly, the electrician was convicted of negligent homicide and got a five year sentence. It was in Connecticut.

It involved a 120V baseboard heater being connected to 240V without an EGC connection. A child's death resulted from the blaze.

Look here for the actual article;

The irony is, all of this guy's battery chargers, radios, and power tool were double-insulated, with two-prong plugs; he only cut off the ground pins because OSHA told him he needed to have three-wire cords!
