Hi to all, I'm a newbie and enjoy following this forum. Most of my work is commercial but currently am doing a small residential 200 Amp service with a through the roof mast kit. My question is about the connection between the 2 1/2 inch mast and the meter socket hub. As supplied by my electrical supplier, the pipe is not threaded and slips over the hub and is held in place by a set screw. Is this screw the only thing, besides the mast clamps, that holds the mast to the hub ?? Thanks to all who reply. This is a Canadian project.

On top of the socket is an internally threaded piece that most of us call a hub. A mast adaptor is screwed into that, either as one piece or with a close nipple. The top of the mast adapter has a set screw to hold the mast.

The mast is unthreaded, i think the screw is for bonding purposes
