John,
I was reading the NFPA magazine when I came upon this article about the PV fire here in NJ. Go to this website and see if you can read it.
http://www.nfpa.org/newsandpublicat...ary-february-2014/features/perfect-storm You might have to copy and paste the link.
Harold:
The link goes to an article about a structure in Wisconsin??
Or, am I missing something?
...the fire started in Jersey, spread to Wisconsin which made it catastrophic...
Now that's not funny.....
Perhaps the implication is that there's nothing of consequence between New Jersey and Wisconsin??
I wonder how the fire worked its way past Lake Michigan.
:p
It's a good article regardless and well worth reading.
As polluted it can get, I wouldn't be surprised...
"Now back to our original post...."
The thing I found interesting is the Le Farge fire department drained the municipal water system and had to truck in water from a lake.
I did not realize a municipal water system was that fragile
Good article Harold. Thanks for the link.
I did some work at a hospital that was right on the border betwene the 2 towns that shared it and was hooked up to both water mains.
They never tested the fire pump at full output for more than a few minutes because it would actually suck the water out of the mains so fast that both towns would end up with a 'boil order' due to the lowered pressure in the mains.
I never figured out how they managed to get fire insurance without someone making them put in a water tower...
John,
If you go down to the section in the article about "PV problem", it talks about the fire at the Dietz and Watson in NJ. It is a little past halfway down I believe.
Yes Harold, I did see that, and I have to say..."Sorry"
That's what happens when I skim a post or article. Time is limited on occasion. Sorry buddy!!
John,
That's OK. I know what you mean. We have been very busy around here until the past month. This winter has been brutal for the construction business by me.
