I'm just wondering if anyone here knows the distance between the two lugs that hold up a phone on a standard US/Bell wall mount plate?

They were installed as standard for wall phones here in Ireland in the 1980s and early 90s but have since disappeared as there appears to be different spacing on the mounting brackets of newer, cheaper phones.

The modern, and much uglier sollution is to install a normal phone jack near by and mount the phone on two screws inserted into the wall. The cable's then just tacked along as neatly as possible.

In the old days the phone company supplied most of them and they were all high quality and manufactured by Nortel, Siemens and a few scandianvian companies and coupled perfectly with the standard bell wall mounts.

I've seen phones with templates suggesting 86mm, 72mm and various other sizes!

Inches or MM will be fine [Linked Image]

Just curious!

I just measured one and they are 4" apart from center to center of the points.

Thanks for that!

Not a problem.
