ok here in washington we use non isulated staples to secure romex (in minnesota we always used the insulated type) anyway people tell me you cant staple 3 14-2's under one staple. i don't see any thing on the bucket backing this statement up only its ul listing, leaving me to beleive common sense must be used. 1 14-3 and 1 14-2 are pretty darn close in thicknes which people say is ok but not 3 14-2's. any thoughts?

Most will have the ratings on the box. The ones I sue have one 14/3, or 12/3, or two 14/2, or 12/2. I am yet to see ones rated for three cables..... Isnt that what stackers are for?
I'll agree with e57.
I see staples listed for (2) 14/2 or (2)12/2 but have not seen a listing for any more.
I do however regularly see 3 cables under a single staple.
BTW,
On a new residential job, I average about 150 stackers.
hi,
i have seen 4 3/12's under a 3/4 EMT strap pass inspection..
anytime i have more than two runs coming down a stud i use the 3m stackers..
3 cables under one strap doesnt look good and is a tight fit..you dont get as much penetration
