What type of connectors are available for connecting light fixtures to aluminum NM cable?

Part 2 of this question would be is aluminum NM cable suitable for connection to a fixture that has a requirement for connection to 90° wire?

Yes and no ;-)
There are wirenuts listed for cu/al splices (notably the purple Ideal 65)
Is it OK, depends on who you ask. The CPSC and New York hate them.
As for aluminum RX being 90c rated, probably not since it is usually 1970s era stuff with TW insulation.
Has anyone seen NM-b/Al?

I have some old NMD-7 AL wire I got from my uncle's farm... Here's a picture I took for a project I was doing a while back on AL wire...


NMD-7 is the old notation for 90 Deg wire IIRC.

Aside from the Ideal 65, don't forget the Marrette No. 63 and No. 65 as well.

I don't think most US guys have ever seen Canadian NM. Our stuff is 600v, among other things. How old is that stuff?

I'm not exactly sure how old it is.. I think it's early 70s probably, because I know that the mid to late 60s aluminum wire had the cloth type sheathing, and this one is plastic.

It's not the "new age" aluminum wire though becuase that would say "ACM" somewhere on the cable jacket.
