Whats the best method of stubbing up a CAT 6 cable through a wood floor?

What do you mean by "stubbing up"? Is it coming up through a finished floor (old work) and will be run on the surface of the wall or are you talking about new construction where it comes up through the shoe into the partition?

Thanks for the reply. I mean old work, exisitng 2 story building with wood floors.

Right now the cables are stubbed up through the floor to 200 work stations with no sleeve or any other type of protection.

Planning to install some new work stations and carpeting so all of the power and data runs will be redone.

Planning to use Carlon Combination Floor boxes with ENT feeding from sub panel in basement. Not all stations will get the floor box.

Had a job like that about two years ago.
Ran power/data to Carlon floor boxes. EMT for power and EMT for data, with dividers in boxes. Had to 'blank' a few and Sealtite to the cubes in a few spots, due to floor plan changes.

EMT ran from power panel, EMT ran from data closet; accessed floor cavity via cutting & patching floor.

Also, you may think about a 'poke-thru' type item, like Wiremolds. (power/data combo, or power/data only.

Ahh, OK. We use a tombstone type floorbox that is divided. One side for the receptacles and the other for LV telephone and data. These can be either surface mounted or poke through.
