I've just picked up a copy of the 1971 NEC on eBay ($5.50 for the book and $9 for postage to England from NJ!).

This should make for some interesting comparisons between then and now, USA/UK in all permutations..... [Linked Image]

Paul, you will find many things are unchanged. My first code book was the 75 edition, and I think I payed more than $14.50.
So, I think you got a good deal. [Linked Image]

Yes, I had picked up a 1977 home wiring book a few years ago on my travels which quoted a some parts of the '75 NEC, and I noticed that many of the rules in article 220 re branch circuits are pretty much the same.

The book just arrived yesterday, so I'll start comparing when I get the time (my thanks to you for supplying the other half of the comparison!) [Linked Image]

I put in a small bid on a 1962 NEC that was being auctioned by the same seller. It finally went for over $25!

I will not list them here, but I too have some extras of old electrical books and NEC's. If anyone is interested, I will prepare a list to be sent to those who send me an email message asking for that list, etc.
