The pictured AE handbook looks earlier than 1970.

I always keep my eyes open for those Audel's books. They really have great descriptions and How To .. procedures that were developed when craftsmanship was more important than the almighty buck. I have one on stairmaking that has information I have never seen anywhere's else.
