Your panelboard will have overcurrent devices and therefore cannot be installed in locations exposed to physical damage, or in clothes closets, if residential cannot be in bathrooms. (220.24(C) & (D) & (E)

If the box contains a service disconnect & the installation is other than residential, can't be in a bathroom.230.70(A)(2)

Also, take into account working space requirements in110.34

Could you be more specific in your question? Are you referring to how near the point of entry a service disconnect must be, or in which loctions a panel may not be permitted?

I have heard many different stories etc.
No closets.
No bathrooms.
Not behind doors.
Not close to gas water heater.
clear front entrances.

I want to put it in the laundry room across from washer and dryer but there a door problem. It will come close to falling behind the back door when open.
