Hot off of the presses......

2015 International Codes, and the 2014 NEC will be published within the NJ Register on September 8, 2015.

The six (6) month grace period as provided within NJAC 5:23-1.6 will extend until March 8, 2016. (Drop dead Date)

Not a Jersey guy:) Here in Massachusetts we are thinking about 2017. We have been following the 2014 for a year and a half.

Does NJ add amendments of the NEC? If so what is an example?

Florida just adopted the 11 in July. I watch these 14 notes but it will be 3 more years before we adopt it unless they find a way to cut through the Florida/NFPA/ICC bureaucracy.
It is all about the way they adopt the codes and the way the codes cycle.

NJ Amendments to the '14 NEC as adopted within the NJ UCC 5:23-3.16 as the Electrical Subcode.

210.8(A)10 Dwelling units GFCI shall be deleted

680.42(B) Delete all text, and replace with:
680.42(B) Bonding, Bonding by metal to metal mounting on a common frame or base shall be permitted.

Exception No. 1 The metal bands or hoops used to secure wooden staves shall not be required to be bonded as required in 680.26

Exception No. 2 A listed self contained spa or hot tub that meets all of the following conditions shall not be required to have equipotential bonding of perimeter surfaces as required by 680.26(B)2:
(1) Is installed in accordance with mfg instructions on or above grade.
(2) The vertical measurement from all perimeter surfaces within 30 horizontal inches (76 cm) of the spa to top rim is greater than 28 inches (71 cm)

Informational note (as written within the NEC '14 text) and add: In Section 620.1, Scope, Informational Note No. 1 shall have "ASME A17.1-2010/CSA B44-10 deleted" and "ASME A17.1-2013/CSA B44-13" shall be inserted in its place.
(same for ii, iii, iv, v.)

vi. In Section 680.25 (A)(1) Feeders the exception shall be deleted. The following exception from Section 680.25(A)(1) of the NEC/2011 shall be inserted:
(As within 2011)

That's about it along with the "AHJ deleted and replaced with "Electrical Subcode Official"
