I know mining & underground comes under 30CFR & 70-E applys. Are there any differences on how 70-E is enforced on mining sites (Mostly surface) & how OSHA enforces it??

Does it Help if I add MSHA 30 CFR 46/47/48/56/57/58 &62
Thirteenth Edition. For Surface & Underground Mines??
I know 90.1 (B)(1) Not covered Installations in Underground mines. Surface Buildings that support the Mine should be covered.

I'll throw my opinion in, but don't take it to the bank.

Based on 90.1, the structures would be NEC, and the local AHJs domain. We have this with the POCOs, ie: relay buildings at switching stations, office bldgs, trailers, etc.; but not anything that is 'utility'.

We don't have any types of 'mines' here, so this is not something I have any knowledge of.

Would the same logic apply to power plants? I have seen some "interesting" installations when I use to be a nuclear gypsy. Primarily to out buildings and other support structures not directly involved in producing power.
Nothing is Utility as power comes into owner owned switching station at 25Kv.
Larry:
The State DCA Code Enforcement gets involved with the plant construction. There are also 'special inspectors' (State lic.) for steel, welds, concrete, etc., that are involved with that type of work.

We (Twp. level) basically are responsible for the 'support' structures, as I said above.

I wasn't going toward utility/POCO, only used it in an example of jurisdictions.
