Does a 1/2" copper condensate line mounted to the floor 3'3" back from the front of a 277/480V VFD violate condition 2 in table 110.26(A)(1)? This pipe (grounded part) is something that could get stepped on but not backed-into like a steel railing or concrete wall so why should it be seen any different than the concrete an electrician would be standing on? If it is a violation then apparently a ridge or step in the concrete floor (even one only a fraction of an inch high) at 3'3" back would also be against the NEC.

Triple,
The 3'3" is close to the 3'6" needed to satisfy the code. If the AHJ is saying it is in violation, could the condensate pipe be moved back, to keep peace?

You could have them encase the cooper line in concrete but that might be a little too severe.
