I know that AFCI's are required practically everywhere now in a house, but where you have GFI's I don't suppose you have to have them there too, do you, like on the kitchen circuits and bathroom circuits, garage and outside circuits, etc.? I know this is a simple question, but I'm running out of time and strength and don't have time or energy to look it up:( Thanks for the input. I haven't been doing new houses in quiet awhile now and have sorta lost touch with them a little. I know about the tamper proof outlets, smoke detectors, etc. etc... but a little rusty on the AFCI's .. thanks, Steve...

The AFCI with GFCI requirement is not widespread use yet and it will depending on which code cycle you are on I know the 2008 did change a bit and that part you have to watch your " toes " due they required combation series and parallel AFCI set up.

My AFCI requirement is limited in the Wisconsin due they push it back until next year yeah we are on 2008 NEC code cycle.

In France that is not a issue due we have almost everything on RCD aka GFCI or AFCI depending on how you denfine it.

Merci,Marc
