334.12(A)(2)(as revised by Mass) allows the use of romex above suspended ceilings in other than dwellings.

300.11(A)(2)(as revised by Mass) says...

Nonfire-Rated Assemblies. Branch-circuit wiring associated with equipment that is located within, supported by, or secured to a suspended ceiling that is not an integral portion of a fire-rated floor/ceiling or roof/ceiling assembly shall be permitted to be supported by the ceiling support wires.

So does this mean that we can run romex above a dropped ceiling , supported by the ceiling support wires, if the ceiling is not a fire-rated assembly?

Are the MA amendments available yet?
Can I download them for no cast from the state.
I haven't been able to find them on the states website.

I picked up my 2005 NEC with MA amendments in the front at MECA just a few days ago.

Follow the link, you can get just the amendments for $8.00
