I’m wiring some heating equipment in a commercial building. They are two small gas hot air furnaces with A/C coils. The only draw about 2 amps each and then a little more with condensate pumps. Does 422.12 mean I can share a branch circuit for both or that they each need their own branch circuit?

Exception #2 in that article says to me that it is permissable to do it that way. But why leave it to chance? If it were me I would run (2) 15 amp dedicated branch circuits, one to each unit so if one stops working -- 20 years from now -- the other one will be working, and the customer won't be left without at least some heat, or A/C.

Or at least ensure that there are two separate disconnects, so you can "drop" one for service and not freeze the occupancy.

I agree with Doug. I don't see a problem sharing the circuit but they should have separate disconnects.
