looking at a job for a panel change out.
the existing service wires run over the top of a car port roof with a clearence of approx 40" from the roof to the weatherhead.
hopefully grandfathered in (99% sure) and i can just change load side only.

but i am wondering whats the highest a riser can go? in my wac(washington administative code)book it only requires guy wire support or ridgid support after 26" to bottom of drip loop when striking to the riser, without listing a maximum height the obvious seems like 8' since that is min. vert. from roof.....just never ever seen one that high before.

thanks,

If this carport is just a pan roof that you can't walk on I would not get to concerned about the height.
I don't think there is really a restriction on mast height but at a certain point physics raises it's ugly head. You might actually be better getting an opinion from the structural inspector.
