How old do you suppose this tape can is? The photos are of the outside and inside of the lid. It is metal and I found it in a drawer at my dad's house (he's 80). My mom had used it to store some necklace beads.

I would guess that the can is from the mid to late 60's. It has metric units on it and the USA used the Kings measure exclusively before that time.

From 1949 to the mid fifties is my guess, I think the metal tins were out by the sixties.
But, I think I remember seeing that same design on a wrapper in the late sixties or early seventies.

Does the mention of asbestos help date it any?

What happened to the upcoming Nostalgia Area?

We keep getting more worthy pics!

I have a mouse pad on my desk of "50 years of innovation" of 3M No. 33 tape. The style of package shown with the plaid was used from 1946 to 1976.

According to:

,the 3M logo on that can was in use between 1955 and 1961.
