Curious as to how many here are IAEI members.

Been a member since about 1985. May not renew my membership. I've asked them for their opinions/responses/thoughts on several occasions in the past couple years, and they have just completely ignored me. I think it's a bit pricey for 6 magazines a year.

If they had written back to say, "We aren't going to respond to that," it would have been OK, but for crying out loud, just to ignore it!!!!!

Also, if there are VA chapter meetings, they keep them well hidden. Once a year in Va Beach, I can't take off for this stuff. I guess if you have an active group in your location, it could be worth it, but I just don't see any benefit.

Sorry to hear about your 'disenchantment'. Things are always better if there is participation. Perhaps things will change soon and just maybe we can all help.

I sent in the Application for Membership back in December, but haven't heard from them yet. Really planned to become a Member back when I found out about it, but I am the Pro - Procrastinator!!
I have a book about procrastination, but haven't read it yet.

On a semi-related note, went to the IAEI forum to post that thread about pre-twisting conductors and taping receptacles, finding a new format [it's not UBB as you know].
It's not too bad. I prefer the UBB format over this one, due to the ability to thread messages and goto next message from a previous thread, without having to return to the area's main page.
Am I missing something?? ..

I have been in the Rocky Mountain Chapter (Colorado & Wyoming) since 1986, and have recently been on the executive board, and I am currently education chairman. I have attended the Western Section annual meetings for about 6 years running. Met some real neat guys and gals at these meetings. Joe Tedesco, Phil Cox, Richard and Nancy Lloyd, and Laverne Stetson to name a few. Had a great time this last year in Jackson Hole, Wy., which our chapter hosted.

I am no longer an inspector, as my job description has changed. I will no longer be on the e-board, but I will try to keep my membership in IAEI current. (If for nothing more than the bonus program for a new code book). The magazine is a great reference.

I urge everyone to join, and become involved in your local chapter. There are some great minds here on this forum, and the electrical field can only benifit from your knowledge!!

Joined in 1999 at the urging of IAEI inspector,instructor for NTT,attended his grounding and bonding class.He is an excellent instructor,provided numerous war stories during his inspection activities.

The only thing that I can tell you is that they cashed my check more than a month ago.
They've never sent me any kind of verification, or anything at all. What gives here??

Have been a member for about 25 years, and only attended 10 meetings.

Been a member for a couple of years, only have the oppotunity to attend section meetings.

Been a IAEI member since Apr 85.

Things are just not the same.

Value the many acquaintances made at the Chapter and Western Section meetings.

Electure, I have not heard from them either. The main office is in my area so I called. They said they have been swapping computer systems/software or something and are playing catch-up.
We'll see.

I talked to IAEI on the phone yesterday and recieved my 2002 code book UPS today. Membership has privileges.

They said they are behind and trying to catch up. I told them I defended them on a web site.

I'm a member too.

The monthly meetings are worth it if you can make it. For me it meens an hour drive.

The magazine is full of useful information.

And, I just got my first free code book this year.

I guess that you get out of it what you put into it.

I am also a member.

I got an email yesterday that the IAEI bulletin board is being shut down as of 12 pm 5/12/02.
