This is from an article about the rising trend of copper thefts.

Last week, a man got shocked in Dayton, Ohio, when he allegedly used a saw to cut utility pole wires to access the copper cables. He suffered burns over 40 percent of his body and his alleged actions resulted in a power outage in downtown Dayton.

Yeah, that is pretty stupid.

What 40% ? Does he have kids? Perhaps he's the rarest, a living Darwin winner.

If _that_ guy lives and successfully manages to sue the power company...

Hell, why stop with the utility? This is America, after all. Why should this poor unfortunate and his lawyer limit their interest to the power company?

Go after the copper mine, the wire manufacturer, the company that made the saw, the city of Dayton, etc.

Fling enough "stuff" against a wall, and some of it is bound to stick... [Linked Image]

The utility company should strike first and press charges against the guy.
They could even shoot him and claim he was a terrorist [Linked Image]

It's utterly amazing that someone so incredibly stupid could try something like this and not be vaporized!!

Alan is right, of course; the POCO (as well as any other agencies involved) should rain toads down upon this idiot AND whatever mouthpiece tries to represent him [Linked Image]!

Unfortunately, this type of thing is getting very common. Those who try it may be in for a very large surprise however. There is talk here in the midwest of attempting to prosecute these "award winners" under new anti-terrorism laws. These will be federal charges and if convicted, these brain surgeons will be checking into the Federal facilities at Leavenworth. Live and never learn I guess.
