We are having a problem with water coming out of a 1" conduit in a pool house. There is a christy box uphill from the poolhouse that the pipe comes from. Now we are having water problems and the inspector won't pass us until we rectify the situation. My boss says there are some special pipe plugs that you can get to seal the pipe. I can't seem to find them anywhere. I was hoping that someone could shed some light on the subject. For the record we didn't install the conduit, the superintendant did, but of course he doesn't remember that now. How convienent.

Try checking OZ Gedney, they have some pretty nice seals although I'm not sure if they address this exact application.

You may be able to get plain old Duct Seal to work.

Dig up your conduit and put another Christy box w/ a gravel drainage bed under it right before the pipe goes inside your building.

This is a "water trap", sort of the reverse of a plumbers trap. Standard issue if you have big hills and pipe going into buildings or equipment.

mhulbert's idea is a good one, short of installing a sump pump. It may very well work, so long as that drainage in the Chisty does not saturate.

Is the water from run off, or ground water below the surface?

If run off, you can extend the conduit higher up in the Chisty and seal it, so it doesn't act like sink drain, and improve the drainage in that box.

If it's ground water, and the slightest leak in the conduit you may be SOL. You have few options, locate the leak, and fix it. Or abandon it, and start fresh. You still need to stop the water, right? Mix up a slurry of cement, (portland milk-shake) cork the end at the house, fill, and start over. 100' of 1" may take 100lbs, and 50 gal of water to fill with slurry, but you only need to the end at the house, so maybe less... Too bad you can't still use the conductors and pipe after that. I grouted some clay voids in my yard that way, and it worked great at stopping the water.

Immediately upon entering the pool-house, install a PVC box on the 1 inch conduit. A 1/2 inch PVC conduit drain out the bottom, and the continuation of the 1 inch run out the top should fix the problem. Run the PVC conduit drain to the floor drain, or through the wall to drain like an AC condensate drain.
