I am installing some emt that will be covered by spancrete. Are the couplings just supposed to be taped at the ends and does it matter what kind of tape?

I thought that compression connectors / couplings were concrete & raintight

Even the snap together Smurf Tube connectors are supposed to be concrete tight.
I still taped mine, U/L duct tape

If junior can tape a fender on at 200mph I say go for it
