I am trying to find mat that you can place over a weatherhead to protect roofers that have a scaffold set up close to a service. I had seen one before that a home owner had purchased but for the life of me my suppliers can't track one down. Wondering if anybody out there knows where I could buy one and what the common trade name for one of these "mats" would be.
Thank you
John
Here in Maine the Power Company would cover service entrance conductors. Not quickly, so you have to give plenty of lead time.
John,
Most people refer to them as blankets for the application your using it for. Graybar and Grainger have them. Look here:

Same thing in Manitoba. If given a little notice Manitoba Hydro will send out somebody to cover it, and place a length of insulating hose over the first few feet of the drop from the house back to the pole.
But from what I see most roofers / siding guys don't bother asking for protection when working around services.
