What does a red-tag from another inspector mean. I got to the job-site yesterday and the furnace I was suppose to wire was Red-tagged by the heating inspector.
Now the customer is furious with me for not finishing the job, and I dont want to step on another inspectors territory.

Your customer should be barking up the tree of his heating guy, who did the job wrong in the first place.
Look at the tag and see if it is a correction notice or a stop work notice.
If it's a stop, do just that.
If a corrrection, I'd contact the inspector and ask if it's OK to continue with your portion of the work.

Thanks for the reply;

It was a stop-work tag (although red) and the inspector had written in the margin that all work to be done by licensed contractors with permits, evidently the landlord doesnt bother with that part of it. I have dealt wiht him before and never had this kind of problem, although not surprized I am ticked off at this aspect of it that he would send me over there knowing full well that that part of it was Red-tagged.
