If it is propane, can you only bend wiring methods approved for hazardous locations? [Linked Image]

OT: Didn't 352.24 used to require listing for RNC bending equipment? It now (2002) says "identified".

We have one where propane is used to heat a glycol solution in a tube and you put the PVC into the tube. It is a bit messy, but very fast once you have the glycol up to heat. I think that it is a Greelee product.

I know that greenlee used to have a propane glycol heater for large PVC, but they don't have it in their catalog anymore.

Try eBay.

The best way I have seen to fail a mandrill test is to use heat to bend pipe. I always buy factory bends for my 4".

We used the hot bend brand propane bender on 2" pvc. worked pretty good but took some getting use to. Not recommended for exposed PVC. Our work passed the mandrel test.

Bob I never really tried using the exhaust pipe trick but I heard Jim Pauley talk about it at a code seminar.

The exhaust pipe trick only works on the ends of the pipe and tends to collapse the pipe (gets to hot in one spot)and the ends have to be cut off because couplings and connectors wont go on.Just creating more work for yourself....look at the web site pvcbender.com it works great.
