Anyone have experience with writing RFP (request for proposal) responses for commercial electrical construction? Any information, links, examples, etc - would be welcomed!

Create a Template document, which includes your Company's Letterhead, add some fill-in fields for entering the data of what is requested, include location to get Plans (or have a response faxback for UPS / Fed-Ex deliveries, so invitees to bid may request this).

Include a brief description of project in a central portion of the document, along with the bid-due date and time.

Include all the normal legal stuff (Licensed Contractors w/ bond and Work Comp, etc.) at the lower part of the document.

If the RFP is for Material Quotes (like Lighting Fixtures and Panels / Gear), then make a simple document with references to items needed, and such.
Include a copy of the Fixture Schedule with fixture bid requests, and a copy of the single line diagram + Panel Schedules for Switchgear / Panel bid requests.

If your asking how to answer the above items, fill out what is bid on:

*If Job Proposal: list what you plan to supply and install, install only, supply only, wire and connect, stub only, etc.
List all exclusions.
List payment methods.
List reply-to contacts.
List price(s) - including tax.

* If Material Quote: List materials of which is requested - and be sure your price covers all these items!!!
List available dates (if needed).
List brand names - if substitutions apply.

If your message is referring to RFC (Request For Clarification), or RFI (Request For Information), then we have a completely different subject to dive into!

BTW, "RFC"'s are also known as "WTH"'s ... stands for "What The Heck" ... Is This/Does This Do/Why/Where/How/etc.!!!???
