O.K., how many of you sing to yourselves while working on a job?

Do you ever start on one particular song and then at the end of the day realize you've had the same song on your mind all day long?

It's just turned 11:30pm here now, and I've realized that I've been walking around singing the "Ballad of the Green Berets" the whole day. [Linked Image]

Wow Paul you are taking me back, I have that song on a 45 RPM record from my childhood.

Quote
Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret

My work tunes tend to run more along the lines of Younger Ozzy or AC/DC.

yeah usually Bad Company, AC/DC, G'N'R, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Journey, or maybe The Beatles.

Paul,

I have heard of that song and I might even have it somewhere. Usually I get a commercial theme song or jingle in my head. However my 2 favorite groups are AC/DC and Electric Light Orchestra! [Linked Image] HA HA

I sing,and talk to myself.

If I'm singing,it's usually an Old Country song. [Linked Image]Usually something Hank Sr. sang.

For me it's usually a Veggietales song.

Or if I'm with my brother we'll run through our favorite Sienfeld routines, trading back and forth the different lines seeing who can get the furthest.

Paul, the only version I know, of the Ballad of the Green Berets, is the Service rivaly version... (removed) Sang it for years as a running cadence in the Marines, still sing it all the time. [Linked Image] No offence to any in the Army...

Paul,
Slightly off topic, but I used to work with a Line Mechanic that used to whistle all the time out on jobs.
Being an older guy he used to whistle some quite decent tunes.
But, if you were really unlucky and worked with him on a bad day, he'd whistle the same song over and over and it would nearly drive you insane, especially if you were in the same Bucket as him for 8 hours.
We were doing a Live Glove and Barrier job one day and were due to make some live connections and the whistling was going on.
I reached around and grabbed one of the blanket clips and shoved it on his lips!. [Linked Image]
Sure, I killed the music, but I hate distractions when I'm trying to concentrate.
Other side of the coin, I've never been able to sing, without scaring nearby animals and children.
I keep the music in my head, it plays continuously. [Linked Image]

Bob/Harold,

I have an original RCA-Victor 45 of it as well. I've just done a Google search on Sgt. Barry Sadler, and what do you know? The first site I came to actually has the recording online! Turn on your sound and give it a little while to download:

Ah, I'm with you on that Russell. I love the old-style country. [Linked Image]
