I am looking to buy a good pair of lineman style rubber/leather gloves to wear during reconnects / disconnects . My only problem is a dont really nead a true high voltage glove as i mainly do res. work. Any ideas? I know most people just wear a good pair of leather work gloves but better safe then sorry.

www.salisbury.com but the rubber goods have to be retested every six months by a testing agency. Our employer supplies ours. I'll bet the larger electrical wholesale houses carry them also. I'd check out Salisbury's site anyways. If you're on your own, you might want a whole PPE kit with a hardhat, faceshield with chin guard, gloves, and minimum 8 cal/cm^2 coverall in a handsome carrying case for $150 to $250.

Here is a site you can get PPE and have it tested at regular intervals.
www.pettestinglab.com

Hope this helps.

Are hot gloves all that are required by OSHA for this type of work? Something to think about...

Grainger sells Salisbury gloves and glove protectors too, as well as FR switch gear...
