I've had a query via e-mail from a lady interested in finding out about possible training programs and electrical apprenticeships for her son, currently in high school. They are located in Norfolk County, Mass.

So any ECN members in the state or immediate area who can provide suitable links, leads, or other pointers toward suitable openings or organizations, I'm sure your time would be appreciated.

I'll be directing the lady to this thread, so all replies here will be seen.

Thanks all!

The son can come to work where I do and get free state certified training right in our shop. (Norwood, MA)

It is a large Merit Shop with great benefits.

Contact me by email for details.

If the son is entering high school this link will give contact information for most of the states vocational schools. Norfolk has several towns that send to Tri County Regional In Franklin, "good electrical program". http://www.massvocassoc.org/
http://www.mass.gov/dpl/boards/el/index.htm

This url is the Board of State Examiners of Electricians.

They will have a list of all Board approved Apprentice programs. and or classes to obtain the 600 hours of class to qualify for a Journeymen’s License Test. State license laws will also be on their web site
Let me know if I can help with more info

Worcester and Brockton locals do not seem to have web pages.

The company that I currently work for is a large merit shop whose office is based in Holliston,Ma. with shops down the eastern coast. They offer accredited schooling and excellent benifits. PM me for more details.
i used to work for a company, Griffin Electric, just south of boston. Great apprenticeship program.
Wayne J Griffin is the company I am with in Atlanta but they are based in Holliston, MA. Free schooling to all apprentices with merit raises along they way before you write your license.
