It looks like UL has listed a few more EMT fittings for wet locations. From what I'm reading, for one particular brand, we'll need torque wrenches & crows foot adapters. What a pain.
Go here for a look.

There's always duct tape...
Oh sorry, I thought this was a D.I.Y board!
As long as you use listed duct tape, I think it would be OK
(yes, UL does list duct tape).
I've personally not heard of anyone being written up for the use of the non-raintight fittings. I'm seeing them being used everywhere I go.
The only raintight fitting I've ever even seen was on Bridgeport's display table at a trade show.
Torque wrenches, a crow's foot, the multiplier for the difference in the handle length, and the math skills to apply it
(many guys can't even convert from inch/lbs to ft/lbs).
What a pain is right!!
This is strictly a vendor-promotional URL, but see
www.etpfittings.com [Aside — about a decade or two ago, ETP was the only manufacturer of listed raintight EMT fittings in
2½-4 inch size. They had large black-rubber boots around outer gland rings.]
