... I have the "New" Ideal Circuit Identifier,... that requires no "thumb-wheel" adjustments...Works well,and is easier to use than the earlier version, of which I also have...It also has a GFCI tester..All for around..$64.00 in a supply house..

Hi Doug,
I use Amprobe Pasar system. It has been very good at locating cobles, circuit breakers, Etc. as long as they have power. I had trouble with the lower end units readly availible. Noise and distance were problimatic with them. The Pasar is much better under these circumstances.
I also just order a transmitter to find denergized wires,etc.

I've got the older "thumb wheel" Ideal model.

It works reasonably well. If you want to go "big time", you can check out the Greenlee combo sets... I've heard they work really well...

If you've got $400.00+ to drop!
