Does anyone know of any good sites not affilliated witha specific manufacturer for lighting calculations.
thx neil
In terms of Fc/ft2, or what?
In terms that i plug in the dimensions of a room ,how many 2x4 fixtures that i will need for any given fcs.
e.g. 120'x95' with an 8' ceiling height,using 3-lamp 2x4s what is my quantity.
i was hoping that there was a program that you could download out there.
You might try a search for visual basic edition. However, with that program you still need to plug-in manufactures info. I know it a freebie for at least a trial period and is easy to use.
I had a free program called ElecPro, which had a lighting calculator on it. It doesn't work well with XP tho. Email me, I might be able to help.
I just tried my program, and found out it was only for HID fixtures. Plus the type of rooms listed were somewhat limited.
I will look around for some other program.

Spent a few doing a web search.
www.visuallightingsoftware.com From there you can down load visual basic edition and try it for 30 days. After that you need to register the software but it is still free.
This is the one we use, your customers can look at the charts before you do the job. It is easy to use, and it's free.
