This is probably a question I should direct
to UL, but would like to get your opinions.
Can you think of any reason why UL would
require a dedicated 20 amp. circuit on a
ceiling heater fan that has a maximun current
draw of 10.7 amps?

Albert, is UL the one requiring the 20A circuit or is the heater UL Listed and the manufacturer's instructions say to use a dedicated 20A circuit?

The manufacturer claims it was a requirement
set by UL for listing. I don't think the
manufacturer was giving me the whole story.
This unit was shown by one of their distributers as requiring a 15 amp circuit,
which makes sense to me as 10.7 amps falls
within 80% of a 15 amp circuit.
