I agree with ya mate!.
straightedge, I think what Bjarney was trying to illustrate, was the fact of the similarity in the arc-fault explosions.
Over here we have had several idiots trying to remove our over-head wires, for the Cu content, someone wants to tell these Egg-heads that HV lines are copper-coated Steel or Steel cored Aluminium!. [Linked Image]

My point was that both were medium-voltage incidents that can be very unforgiving…

In many places, scrap-metals yards and coils of wire are sort of like pawn shops and jewelry—either will alert officials if someone comes in off the street with goods of suspicious origin.

I don’t know if it happens very often, but I have heard of electric utilities keeping remote sections of line energized to discourage interest in ‘span harvesting.’
