A custom builder, $500,000 and up, tells me he had problems with kitchen recpts having to be replaced. He now specs HG for kitchens. Anyone run into this? BTW, he warrants his jobs for 10 years.

If you got to warranty it for 10 years, why not go with the best?

World Power is now offering the high-conductivity Hubbell model 5362BK and high-conductivity hospital-grade Hubbell model 8300GY duplex wall receptacles with deep cryogenic treatment. Both are rated for 20-ampere circuits (actual tested capacity is 28 amperes), and feature a ~75% copper content, which is, to our knowledge, higher than any commercially available receptacle. These heavy-duty grade duplexes can replace standard wall receptacles and those duplexes used in various AC line conditioners (space permitting, as the 5362 and 8300 are physically larger than standard grade)

Don't forget to include your initials for the monogram. Gold plating is extra.

rowdyrudy:

Were they GFCI receptacles (as opposed to receptacles on a circuit with a GFCI breaker)?

This thread might be interesting.
