Hi guys,

short question:
As seen from neutral, the phase shift between A and C Phase (low legs) is 180 degrees.
However, the phase shift between A B C for running a 3ph Motor is still 3x 120 degrees? Is that correct?

I am having a hard time understanding that A and C are 180° apart seen from ground, but 120° apart seen from B.

Thanks
Greetings from Germany
Andy

It is easier to think of this as three single phase circuits connected together 120 degrees out of phase. When you look at the diagram with that in mind it is easier to see each pair is a single phase circuit (180 degrees out of phase) but when looked at as a whole you get the 120 degree separation.
