AYE!! An Outstanding idea!! I certainly believe in feeding the marinelife. [Linked Image]

BTW, Just exactly how fast CAN an automobile be propelled (i.e. released) off the end of an aircraft carrier anyway...? LOL

What a waste of a car. If you are going to do this make sure to pack it full.

Hey! That looks like my 1964 Chevy Impala!

Do they use the steam-ram-powered "takeoff helper" for cars too?

AYE!
I still say that they should have thrown the "shoe bomber" out of the plane too.

Sometimes, our justice system works slow.

AYE but pack em in tight like the old how many in a VW bug
Posted By: electure Re: All in favor say AYE! - 01/14/03 01:08 PM
AYE, but VW's were known to float.
How about an old Trash Truck. If you used the packer ram, you could really stuff it tight [Linked Image]...S

Just in case the car floats the Navy will launch a $41,300 Stinger Missile.

I didn't know those missles were equipped with a "Terrorist-Seeking" guidance system. Outstanding idea, though. [Linked Image]

Fully packed automobile = better kill ratio.

BTW: The photos are an A+...

Donnie, is this a new way to desert from the Navy when you're on the high seas? [Linked Image]

For all you know it could have been one of those amphibious cars....

I bet that was the first Ford Falcon to go 0 to 120 mph in a few hundred feet!

Were there any amphibious Falcons? [Linked Image]

Mmmm... Red '66 Falcon Sprint with 289 V8 and convertible top. </dreaming>

They shoulda used a Pontiac Aztec instead!

Oh... AYE!

Reminds me of the time that Cycle World dropped a Honda Trail 90 (or was it the 70?) from a helicopter high enough to achieve 160 mph before becoming a greasy crater. It was at the time when the 160 mph barrier remainded elusive to the crotch-rocket builders, and the headline of "Honda breaks 160 mph barrier" in the April issue was a crude joke. Funny stuff.
