I got a service call today for an elevator that was not working. I checked it out and it was a blown fuse. The fuses that were in were one time fuses. All the supply house has was time delays so I replaced it with that to get it going.

What is the differnced between the two and do I need to change it to a one time? The elevator is 3ph 240v and originally dates maybe to 1940 or thereabouts.

Simply put, the differences is the time curve that the fuse will allow before opening. The td's are common for motor loads, as they allow for start inrush.

As long as you sized them correctly, IMHO you are OK
