To one and all:
Let us not forget what we have to be thankful for.

Not just on the 28th of November, but everyday.

Hopefully, all of us here are healthy, and have other things to be thankful for....

Mmmmmm... Turkey....

</homer simpson>

Yes, a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

And happy hunting to those that indulge...

Hope everyone enjoys "sufferin' in comfort" as my grandpappy always said while patting his thanksgiving-dinner-stuffed belly.

I am glad that Thanksgiving exists.
I probably take all my blessings for granted more than all of you combined.
With all the bullsh-- that goes on all year, it is, unfortunately, only during the Holiday Season that I realize how important it is to have a loving wife and children, and how much I truly have to be thankful for.
I wish Thanksgiving came once a month, because I sure could use a regular reminder.

I think it does us good to stop and take the time to reflect upon just how much we have to be thankful for.

I wish we had a Thanksgiving Holiday over here, but alas not. I'll be with you in spirit if not in body.

I too would like to add my wishes for a safe holiday to all here. Along with all the things I am thankful for I treasure my children most. This helps me to remember what is important. This is on my mouse pad from Sucessories.

Priorities
"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

Heres hoping that I can live up to this. Spend time with your kids while they are small.

Peace to all,
Jim

I'm not a very good sailor, so I think I'd go for the 747-style Mayflower! [Linked Image]

How very true. "Teach your children well..."

Y'all have a great time, and if you're traveling to see family, drive safe on this busy day.

Paul,

Would you please discuss a few of the Holidays you have that we don't ?
Posted By: pauluk Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING! - 11/29/02 11:27 PM
Redsy,
Official holidays in England include New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day (a peculiarly British name for December 26).

Other than that, we mostly have what are called "Bank holidays" (roughly equivalent to American public holidays).

Very infrequently we get an extra holiday thrown in for "special" occasions, such as the Queen's Golden Jubilee this year.

Other parts of the U.K. can vary a little, e.g. St. Patrick's Day is a holiday in Northern Ireland but not in England, in much the same way as Columbus Day and Lincoln's Birthday are observed officially in some states but not others.

You can see a list here: http://www.dti.gov.uk/er/bankhol.htm

Click the "historical note" link for more info.
