Has anyone had any complaints of sockets burning up in the F17T8 fluorescent fixtures?
In one of the office areas I have had 3 sockets burn up on me in the past 3 months.
These fixtures were retro-fitted about 2 years ago with electronic ballast and T8 lamps as an energy saving program.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

make sure the wattage on the ballast matches the wattage on the lamp.

The first thing I suspected was ballast-lamp ratings on the ballast, that checked out ok.
The fixtures and lamps in question were in operation for at least 2 years before they failed.
Every time I chalk things up to coincidence it comes back and bites me in the butt....so I don't believe in coincidence

Be sure the tubes are properly locked in the sockets (index mark pointing straight down). A loose lamp will burn up a socket very quickly>
