I just received my approval to take the Ohio Electrical Contractor exam, I'm currently a licensed Michigan contractor. That notice was followed up the next day by a solicitation by the North American Contractors Association with a myriad of study courses and practice exams ranging in price from $75.00 to $400.00. It's been about 25 years since I took the Michigan exam so I'm a little apprehensive.

Are these classes any good, or necessary for that matter?

Thanks,
Joe

I would recomend taking one of the courses; Mike Holt, Tom Henry etc... Find one in your area that fits your schedule and brush up, it can't hurt.It is sometimes hard for those of us with experience to adjust our thinking to the code minimum that they will be looking for on the test. It would also be good for you to brush up on the way they word their questions,as some of them are downright tricky. Good luck whichever way it works out for you. Let us know when you pass it.

Sure a course couldn't hurt.

If its anything like michigans contractors tests. They should have paperwork online about what you need to study.

I took Michigans test last month without studying and I managed to pass. I'm not that smart. smirk
