As a volunteer firefighter, we have a coal generation plant in our district. When we have a grass fire out by it we constantly keep reminding each other about the smoke and 350,000 volt lines overhead. The power plant can't shut power down on the lines so everyone is reminded of its danger all the time. No one has been hurt and hopefully no one will.
Thats why I love this web site you guys are always thinking. Keeping thoughts, ideas, and commonsense out in front for others.
Good job guys.
Wow, I never thought about smoke being conductive...

Yep, ECN should count as CEU's in the states that require them... I, for one, learn many things here every day!

Conductive smoke does not only affect firefighters. I believe this was 345kV also.
