Sorry. Had a little trouble remembering my password at work. Anywy, is there a maximum distance a disconnect can be from an outdoor unit? Providing line of sight is maintained?

Assuming you're referring to HVAC equipment (a condensor in particular), the disconnecting means according to article 440.14 says that it must be within sight of the unit and be readily accessible.

Yeah, thats what we think too. A friend had this question on a state exam and was given four multiple choice answers. I don't remember the specific answers but they were all footages. I can't find anything.

See the definition of "In Sight From" in Article 100. It includes a distance of 50 feet.
