I know we've discussed nuclear power here before, so what are your thoughts on trash to energy incinerators, good and bad?

Here in Connecticut, we incinerate 60-65% of our trash, the highest percentage of any state in the U.S. Most of it goes into WTE plants. I have no objections at all to these facilites, and I actually think that we should build more to help solve the power crisis in the northeast (and elsewhere).

I'm Pro-Nuke, but I don't have any problem with incinerators. I think it may be a good way to get rid of trash and produce a positive result. Really the only power source I don't like is Coal. Contrary to what we are told by the media, over 50% of air polution comes from coal fired generators, not clean burning automobiles.

Peter,

I've already posted some links in the Non-U.S. section, but while searching I also came across this link about power in France -- mostly nuclear but with a substantial amount of hydro-power.
